Characteristics and Potential Production of Frozen Semen of Pasundan Bull

Pasundan cattle are one of the Indonesian domestic resources animal-genetic materials that need to be developed and conserved. The aims this study were evaluate characteristics sperm potential production frozen semen bulls. Ten bulls divided into two groups based on their fresh motilities. grouped motilities group A (70-79%) B (80-89%). Secondary data collected confirmed with primary data. volume, pH, color, consistency, mass movement, concentration, motility, viability, membrane integrity, abnormality, DNA integrity evaluated. was then diluted, frozen, stored at -196°C. results showed pH in lower (p<0.05) than A. Sperm concentration per ejaculate no difference a range 4312.36x106 6303.52x106. viability not different between (84.41±0.99%; 91.19±0.79%) (86.35±2.16%; 92.58±0.35%). (89.81±1.18%) higher (86.83±0.60%). motility (<40%) compared SNI number 4869-1:2017. 144.18 191.29 straws/ejaculate. In conclusion, only from fresh-semen 80%-89% (group B) eligible used as source for artificial insemination.
